NEXT JOB HAS ALREADY
KICKED OFF
I am personally inviting Sheryl Crow to help me build the next
building, she
can play the guitar and sing for me while we grind away at the building.
The project is: Madison Ambulatory Surgical Center in Madison,
Alabama

Still doing the sitework, but we will open up footings soon! Stay tuned

Structural steel is coming tomorrow!

Good week, we have made some strides

Plumbing rough-in should finish this week, so we will
be getting the concrete slabs ready to pour.

Getting ready for the concrete~~~~~~~~~~~>

First elevated slab

Much too long between posting. I have let things go for a few
days so I'll try to get it caught up.

All-South roofing delivers material for Firestone rubber roof , right
next to Porta pottie, how prophetic

What a mess. Transformer pad and emergency generator pad

My good looking jobsite assistant (also my oldest daughter)

So we frame walls

And we begin roof blocking

If you can't do it right, then do it wrong APAC
Another APAC blunder

I am getting lazy again on maintaining this website. We have come
a long way since the last update. We have begun final finishes
inside the building and have under gone various changes in the GI
sections of the building. When this happens during construction,
you have to regroup and attack.
I don't know where my next project will be but I hope to come back to
Tennessee. Timing is everything, and being able to start a new
project means you have to finish the one you are on by start dates of
the new one. Tenant work has not yet started on the second floor
and me getting out of here by the middle of August depends largely on
getting that work going.
Here is Micah!!!!!!!!!
This is Micah working out on the jobsite,
big difference from an earlier photo when she was wearing a dress

Crappy looking sheetmetal up there? Yea, they will be reworking
that
crappy sheetmetal courtesy of All-South
Vinyl wallcovering has begun as of June 18,
folks, its time to get the hell out of the way and get done
We get to the point of having to get people out of the building, so we
literally push them out the other end.
Front lobby floor tile

DMI also did all of the fine mable and tile work at the Ledges
This is an elevator shaft from an inside view. In this type shaftwall
construction, we frame and hang three sides and leave off the front
until the door frames are set. Well they are set here and the
lower wall has been framed and
hung. We will hang the upper floor next and soon have a working
elevator
on the job.
Here is an exterior shot from the Northeast side, most all of the
sidewalks have been poured and
the asphalt binder has gone down. Lightpoles will be set soon and
we should begin final paving around the
middle of July.
Laco Woodworks installing all the casework in the building
This is the difference between a medical grade facility and one such as
the Ledges.
At the Ledges, Brasfield & Gorrie carpenters installed all of the
custom woodwork,
here we have subcontracted all of this to Laco
Wells & Tate Electrical making up panelboards
Simpson Contracting from Birmingham, AL completed all of the EIFS work
around the building
You guys did a fine job and keep your work areas clean
I appreciate that

More of the same for this week, we
have air moving through the building but the moisture content of the
floor is still not acceptable to install VCT or sheetvinyl. That is
bad, this week we should have fully conditioned air moving through the
building.
Light poles go up, we thought we had them buring all night but when the
electrian checked, they burned from 7:30 PM to 7:31 PM, he said the
writing on the photocell was small.
These are aerial shots (no kidding) of the building
This is the Steris crap
More Steris crap

Dr. Wilson suite on 2nd floor
I believe that is a painters ass in the background
I will post finish shots of the first floor next week, the OR rooms and
other stuff. It cleaned up well after we got a decent painting
crew on the job
September 6, 2004
We have passed the ADPH inspection and they will begin cutting folks
open soon. We still have office suites to building on the second
floor and should have everything wrapped up by the end of the month.
All good things must
come to an end and this project is over

I had the best feeling last Friday
when I put my apartment keys in an envelope and dropped them off in the
night drop
I have been away from home since June of 2002, and I am ready to take
off a few days and enjoy myself
